Client Profile:

This client is a not-for-profit acute care hospital. The Emergency Department has 44,000 annual visits.

Project Description:

Echo was asked to evaluate the current ED operations using Sim Advantage™. This comprehensive assessment provided a detailed picture of the current state, identified bottlenecks and key areas for focused improvement strategies.

Results and Achievements:

Echo was able to assist the client in assessing the need for a $1 million ED renovation project. It was determined that an increase in the number of beds was not currently needed. Throughput outcomes included decreased door to doctor time, decreased length of stay of admitted patients and reduction in the percentage of patients who leave without being seen.
